About PopstarGalaxy.com:
There are many existing websites, magazines, books, TV shows and other forums that discuss the daily lives of popstars and provide celebrity gossip about what popstars are wearing, where they hang out, who they hang out with, who they’re dating, who they’re marrying, what cars they drive, where they eat, what they eat, what they said, what they did, who they’re BFF’s with, who they hate, etc.
But there seem to be far fewer forums for interesting and informative discussion about the business of the popstar and the behind-the-scenes members of each popstar’s music team. We refer to this team as the “popstar galaxy”, and it’s comprised of the managers, songwriters, publishers, label execs, attorneys, producers, engineers, mixers, editors, video directors, film/TV execs, ad agencies, publicists, etc. that make up the universe of the popstar. The galaxy is the collective driving force that propels the popstar to the top of the charts (and the cover pages of magazines) and keeps them there.
At PopstarGalaxy.com, we’ll be bringing you stories from and about the popstar galaxy — tales about the music business, interviews with galaxy members, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the economics of the universe of the popstar. It’s our goal to see this site evolve and grow into a place where information is freely shared, ideas are exchanged, and interesting commentary can be found about the music business and all things related to the making of a popstar.
We welcome your comments on the content we post on this site, and we also invite you to share your own thoughts, personal stories, information, knowledge, wisdom and anecdotes. Just please keep the content PG-rated, so our young future popstars and galaxy members will also feel welcome here.
About the PopstarGalaxy.com team:
From PopstarGalaxy’s founder – As a music attorney, musician and former music Vice President at a major Hollywood motion picture studio (where I worked on more than 300 films and soundtrack album projects containing a great deal of music created by popstars and their galaxies), I’ve learned a thing or two about how the music industry works and the music business of the popstar. Over the years I’ve worked with the teams of many popstars and rockstars, including Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, U2, Britney Spears, The Rolling Stones, Justin Bieber, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, Beyoncé, Bob Dylan, P!nk, Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, The Doors, Queen, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Green Day, The Ramones, Frank Sinatra, Eminem, The Grateful Dead, John Coltrane, Sting, Tupac Shakur, Stevie Nicks, Peter Gabriel, Céline Dion, Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin, Jay-Z, Joan Jett, 50 Cent, Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith and many others. I am myself an admitted member of the popstar galaxy, but I’m also still a fan and not totally immune to finding myself star-struck on occasion. Such is the enduring allure of the popstar and celebrities in general….we’re all like moths to a flame.
Guest contributors – In addition to posting interviews with various members of the popstar galaxy on our site, from time to time we’ll also be inviting successful and interesting galaxy members to contribute guest posts to our site. These guest contributors will be songwriters, music publishers, artist managers, record label execs, and a variety of others who are involved in the daily business of the popstar.
If you’re interested in contributing a guest post to our site, email us at [email protected] and let us know.
